The European Commission concluded on 4 November 2016 that Hungary's 2014 Advertisement Tax Act was in breach of EU State aid rules because its progressive tax rates granted a selective advantage to certain companies. It also unduly favoured companies not making a profit in 2013, by allowing them to pay less tax. The in-depth investigation had been opened in March 2015. |
