The European Commission announced on Wednesday (22 November) that it had opened an in-depth investigation into whether aid granted by the German state of Saxony to DHL and to the regional airport of Leipzig/Halle complies with EU state aid rules. OLAF, the European Union’s anti-fraud office, has concluded that six officials of the Committee of the Regions (CoR) may have breached criminal law in claiming allowances. |
