Statement by Commissioner Avramopoulos during his visit to Lesvos, Greece

This is a transcript of a speech made by Commissioner Avarmaopoulos in Lesvos, Greece on 18 January 2017. In the speech he addresses the refugee crisis, and states the humanitarian imperative Europeans and Greeks have to alleviate the situation of the newly arrived migrants as well as the inhabitants of the Greek island Lesvos.
