Statement by Commissioner Jourová on the European Day for victims of crime

On 22 February 2017 Commissioner Jourova made a statement marking the European Day for victims of crime. She urged all member states to adopt the Victims Right Directive which gives all victims of crime across Europe the right to protection, assistance and support. She also talked of new rules which were recently adopted to help the victims of terrorism. Finally she discussed a new campaign for 2017 which focused on female victims of any form of violence.
