The European Union condemned Iran on 14 October 2015 for carrying out the death penalty on a woman whose crime was committed when she was just 17. According to Amnesty International, Salbehi was put to death for the murder of her 30-year old husband, Hamed Sadeghi, who she had been forced to marry at the age of 16. |
