Eurojust presented its THB Strategic Project Final Report and Action Plan at a conference co-organised by the Cyprus EU Presidency and the European Commission. The conference, 'Working together towards the eradication of trafficking in human beings: The Way Forward', was held in Brussels on 18 October 2012. The Eurojust Strategic Project analyses the reasons for such a small number of THB prosecutions, identifies the causes of the limited use of Eurojust, and proposes measures to improve the situation in an action plan. The results of the Eurojust Strategic Project were derived via an analysis of 29 THB cases dealt with by Eurojust during the period of January 2008–December 2011, a questionnaire to the national authorities of all Member States plus Croatia and Norway, and the outcome of Eurojust’s strategic meeting on THB of 26-27 April 2012. |
