The United States will not at present be putting further pressure on Switzerland now that the Swiss parliament agreed on the 5 March 2012 to revisions of their taxation agreement.

Speaking to German-language television on the 6 March 2012, the US Ambassador Donald Beyer welcomed the decision by the House of Representativesto allow the US authorities to receive administrative assistance in matters involving grouped requests for information about US holders of Swiss bank accounts.
