Summary: Joint Communication published by the European Commission and the High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy on 10 June 2020, which assesses steps to fight disinformation around the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic and proposes a way forward on the matter. This Joint Communication focuses on the immediate response to disinformation around the coronavirus pandemic, looking at the steps already taken and concrete actions to follow, which can be quickly set in motion based on existing resources. Action builds on the Action Plan against Disinformation and responds to the call of the European Council and Council of the European Union, as well as concerns of the European Parliament. |
