Telecoms operators will face new rules on competition with rivals

In 2015 the European Commission carried out a consultation 'Evaluation and review of the regulatory framework for electronic communications networks & services'.

Following an analysis of the submissions to the consultation the European Commission was expected to launch new legislative proposals in the second half of 2016.
