Tens of thousands of Italians took to the streets of Rome on the 25 October 2014 for a demonstration organised by Italy's largest trade union CGIL to protest at Prime Minister Matteo Renzi's plans to overhaul the labour market. The reforms were aimed to tackle unemployment and re-energise Italy's stagnating economy.
