The Commission is planning to give 6.8 million ecu in humanitarian aid

to Latin American countries hit by hurricane Mitch. Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua will be given money to provide medicines, food and drinking water. A final decision on the aid will be taken by the Union's humanitarian aid office ECHO.
