The Commission White Paper on modernisation of the rules implementing Articles 81 and 82 of the EC Treaty

Given the expansion of the Community and the global economic environment, the Commission has decided that Regulation 17 is no longer appropriate for providing effective supervision of the Community's main competition rules. The Commission's White Paper sets out its views on modernising the enforcement process. Article analyses the main issues considered for reform and discusses the merits of the Commission's proposals which would dramatically change the present system of enforcement of Community competition law.
