The Czech Republic has returned to growth in 2011 after a severe recession in 2009. But economic expansion is significantly slower than in neighbouring ex-communist countries, a sign of both the need for further reforms and of the difficulty in spurring fast growth in a country which, to all intents and purposes, is no longer an emerging economy.
