Date: 29/05/1997 this week claimed they could soon sign a five-product mutual recognition agreement covering multi-billion-ecu markets in telecommunications equipment, pharmaceuticals and medical devices. The announcement at the EU-US summit followed a flurry of talks which looked like falling through until the last minute. The two sides also announced agreements on veterinary inspection, control of precursor chemicals for drugs and customs cooperation. |
