in the dispute over Kashmir while resuming diplomatic efforts to broker an agreement to end the conflict. In a statement issued by the outgoing German presidency, the Union called for the immediate withdrawal of armed infiltrators from Kashmir, and urged both countries to “work for an immediate cessation of fighting, to fully respect the line of control and to prevent further cross-border infiltration”.
