The European Commission has sacked four local staff in its Stockholm office for breaking EU internal accounting rules.

Three international employees are also being questioned under disciplinary procedures in connection with the same allegations. The move follows the announcement earlier this year by the Union's anti-fraud office, OLAF, that it was investigating alleged irregular wage payments to some employees in the Stockholm office.
