In a working paper on asylum policy published this week, Justice and Home Affairs Commissioner Anita Gradin said the Union must work towards “common minimum levels” for asylum-seekers in all member states. However, the Commission will only decide what legislation to propose after widespread consultations with the European Parliament, EU governments and pressure groups. |
