Date: 12/12/1996 on minimum excise duties on mineral oils. Under current draft plans, electricity would be taxed at one ecu per megawatt hour in 1998, rising to three ecu in 2002. In addition, the minimum duty on petrol would rise to 450 ecu per 1,000 litres from the start of 1998, increasing to 500 ecu in 2000 and 557 ecu in 2002. Diesel rates would rise to 450 ecu by 2002. Air fuels would be exempted temporarily from the rules. |
