ruled this week that Sweden, the only EU country which has a general ban on advertising aimed at children under 12, cannot block commercials broadcast from other member states, unless they are misleading. Stockholm can, however, apply stricter regulations to broadcasters based in Sweden. The case centred on whether the ban on children's advertising was a barrier to trade in the single market.
