The European health report is produced every three years as a flagship publication by the WHO Regional Office for Europe. The latest edition was published in September 2018. The report welcomed an increase in life expectancy and reductions in premature mortality, but warned that smoking, alcohol, overweight and obesity and under-vaccination were hindering progress in some countries.

The European health report aimedo track progress against targets set by the European policy framework, Health 2020, which aimed to establish equitable, sustainable and universal health-care systems in Europe that give individuals control over the health decisions that most affect their lives.
