The European Union increases its support for Haiti

On 21 April 2017, European Commissioner Neven Mimica announced a new EU aid package to Haiti on an official visit to the country.

Haiti is one of the poorest country in the Latin America/Caribbean region.
The European Commission provides humanitarian aids to the Country in order to cover immediate needs in relation to hurricanes and other natural disasters, which often cause widespread damage to housing, agriculture, and infrastructure.
