The fight against discrimination and the promotion of equality How to measure progress done

This analytical study commissioned by the European Commission targets a two-fold objective:

+to develop a conceptual framework for evaluating progress •
in equality and anti-discrimination efforts and to formulate
specific suggestions with a view to selecting a reasonable
number of indicators (report Part 1);

+to start examining the statistical data available at the
international, European and national levels that might contribute to an evaluation of the progress made in equality
and anti-discrimination efforts, and to identify existing
shortcomings and propose a series of corrective measures
(report Parts 2 and 3).
