The newly established Oireachtas Sub-Committee on the EU Fiscal Treaty continued its discussions on the Fiscal Treaty when it met with a number of party leaders on 17 April 2012. The morning session was addressed by Joe Higgins of the United Left Alliance. This was followed by a presentation by Micheál Martin, Leader of Fianna Fáil. In the afternoon, the Committee met with Eamon Gilmore, Tánaiste (Deputy Prime Minister), Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Leader of the Labour Party and also with Catherine Murphy, the Whip of the Technical Group in the Dáil (House of Representatives). |
