The Single Market: A vision for the 21st century

The report, 'A Vision for the Single Market in the 21st Century' was launched at the meeting of EU Finance Ministers in Brussels on 30 January 2007 by the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown and the UK Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Alistair Darling. The paper sets out the United Kingdom's proposals to feed into the fundamental review of the Single Market being carried out by the European Commission. The Commission is expected to publish proposals later in 2007 following a discussion at the Spring Council on 8-9 March 2007.
