The transparency trap

The EU’s new lobbying disclosure system is struggling with its own success.

The Alliance for Lobbying Transparency and Ethics Regulation (ALTER-EU) and over a hundred other organisations sent an appeal to the European Commission in May 2015 to make a legally binding registry of lobbyists and stronger rules on lobbying transparency.
