The Union and Canada have launched a new initiative

to improve trade relations between the two, which will be known as the Euro-Canadian Trans-Atlantic Action Plan. The plan will foster bilateral trade through mutual recognition of standards and regulations, as well as providing a forum for discussions on services, government procurement, intellectual property rights and competition.
