Summary:

The conference on the 30 Years of Freedom of Movement for Workers in Europe and the subsequent publication should be seen from a historical perspective.

The authors will be discussing the history of Europe, the history of  of the reconciliation of the peoples of Europe, the history of action taken by men and women who from the beginning, believed in ever closer union between the countries of Europe, They will be talking about the revolution for workers brought about by the recognition of the right to work and look for work in any Member State of the European Union.

And to assess the enormous impact this right has had - and its contribution to the EU's development - we have to trace the course of events.
