The European Medicines Agency (EMEA) stated, in September 2004, that three years of success had followed the adoption of the European Regulation on orphan medical products by the European Parliament and Council in 1999. EMEA and its Committee for Orphan Medical Products (COMP) were instrumental in the implementation of the Regulation and achieved success beyond expectations. |
