Tongue twister

Japanese journalists were delighted last week to be offered translation in their own language at a press conference given by Trade Commissioner Sir Leon Brittan and Japanese Minister of International Trade and Industry Kaoru Yosano.

But spare a thought for any Greek hacks: the sign which usually indicates that translation into Greek can be found on channel seven was covered by a makeshift paper one with Japanese symbols and the number seven written on.
