United Kingdom Conservative Party leader, David Cameron, unveiled on the 22 June 2009 the Tories’ new anti-federalist European Parliament political group, to be called the European Conservatives and Reformists Group, prompting rivals’ accusations he was trading influence for ideological isolation. It could become the fourth largest Group in the European Parliament, with fifty five MEPs.

All of the parties in the new grouping have signed a declaration, which argues for reform and a non-federalist future for the EU.
