Towards a European integrated coastal zone management (ICZM) strategy: General principles and policy options

This volume presents the general principles that have emerged from the Demonstration Programme and opens the question of how these principles can be translated into action at the European level. The intended audience for this document includes those individuals and organizations with an interest or stake in the management of coastal zones. Together with the accompanying document 'Lessons From the European Commission's Demonstration Programme on Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM)' this text was the basis of a public consultation between April and September, 1999.
