The EUR-OPA Major Hazards Agreement has long contributed to and continues to support the global efforts on Disaster Risk Reduction, in particular the four priority areas of the Post-2015 Framework to be adopted at the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (14-18 March 2015, Sendai, Japan). Created in 1987, the European and Mediterranean Major Hazards Agreement (EUR-OPA) is a platform for co-operation between European and Southern Mediterranean countries in the field of major natural and technological disasters. Its field of action covers the knowledge of hazards, risk prevention, risk management, post-crisis analysis and rehabilitation. |
