Treasury relaxes rules on importing tobacco

The UK Treasury announced a relaxation of the rules on importing tobacco on 29 October 2002. Cross-Channel shoppers have been told they can bring four times more cigarettes into the UK, but the relaxation of the rules may not put a stop to the controversial seizure of cars owned by suspected smugglers.
