According to a report published on 5 July 2005 by CiLT, the (UK) National Centre for Languages, the UK is losing business and competitive advantage because of poor foreign language skills in companies. The UK is bottom of a table of 28 countries in competence in foreign languages and 80% of export managers cannot do business in even one foreign language.
