UK gives go-ahead to nuclear energy

A new wave of nuclear power stations was given the green light on the 10 January 2008 by the UK government as it said they would be a 'safe and affordable' way to secure future energy supplies. The Government issued a White Paper 'Meeting the energy challenge. A White Paper on Nuclear Power'
