UK Trade & Investment is the government organisation that helps UK-based companies succeed in the global economy and assists overseas companies to bring their high quality investment to the UK. It reports jointly to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). The UK Inward Investment Report for 2010/11 shows that the UK has attracted investment from a record 54 countries, with total foreign direct investment in the UK now worth £720 billion. It also shows that the UK remains Europe’s top destination for foreign direct investment (FDI) and is home to more European headquarters than all other European countries. |
