UK launches corruption investigation into Airbus

The Airbus Group reported on the 7 August 2016 that the United Kingdom Serious Fraud Office (SFO) had opened a criminal investigation into allegations of fraud, bribery and corruption in the civil aviation business of Airbus Group relating to irregularities concerning third party consultants. Airbus Group would continue to cooperate with the SFO.

A spokesperson for the SFO said additional details of the probe would not be made public until charges were brought or the investigation was dropped. The investigation could take several years.
