Ukrainian prosecutors announced on the 15 December 2010 that they had launched criminal charges against Yulia Tymoshenko, a leading opposition figure and former prime minister. 'A criminal case has been initiated in relation to Ms Tymoshenko on suspicion of abuse of power,' said Yuriy Boychenko, a spokesperson for Ukraine’s prosecutor’s office. Speaking outside the prosecutor’s office, Ms Tymoshenko called the case against her politically motivated. 'The terror against the opposition continues,' she said. |
