Article reports that Ukraine’s President Viktor Yanukovich bowed to the demands of small businesses and vetoed tax reform legislation on the 30 November 2010.

The move came in the wake of recent massive protests by people representing small and medium enterprises who said the changes would drive them out of business.

The protests – the largest in Ukraine for several years – are the latest sign of rising discontent with Mr Yanukovich. Since taking over as President in February 2010, he has been accused of monopolising power and backtracking on democratic gains made since the 2004 Orange Revolution.
