US, EU seek common ground after Seattle

Reports from the EU-US Summit, Washington, 17.12.99
The EU and US held their regular bi-annual summit in Washington on 17 December 1999. Topics discussed at the meeting included: Kosovo and South East Europe; European security; the management of regional issues such as Cyprus, Turkey and Chechnya; terrorism; reducing nuclear dangers; cooperation in Northern Europe; combating the spread of small arms, expanding trade and economic cooperation and enhancing dialogue on biotechnology.
