Summary:

EU Ministers responsible for financial and economic matters (ECOFIN) held a videoconference on 4 November 2020. The agenda included the following items:

  • Discussion on a set of conclusions concerning anti-money laundering and terrorism financing;
  • Briefing on the implementation of the 2017 Action Plan on non-performing loans (NPLs) in the banking sector;
  • Presentation by the EFB chair of the EFB's 2020 annual report;
  • Presentation by the Council Presidency of a number of sets of conclusions:
  • Briefing on the discussions at the G20 finance ministers' and central bank governors' meeting;
  • Briefing on the discussions at the IMF/World Bank annual meetings;
  • Update on progress concerning a number of legislative initiatives:
    • Capital Markets Recovery Package;
    • Benchmark Regulation;
    • Cyber resilience;
    • Crypto assets;
    • Directive on administrative cooperation in the field of taxation (DAC 7).
