EU ministers responsible for matters relating to employment and social affairs held an informal video conference on 5 May 2020.

Further information:

Ministers discussed the demographic challenges in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, as well as the national measures taken or foreseen to mitigate the negative consequences of the crisis on the labour markets and the economy. The outcome of the debate was to feed into the finalisation of an upcoming European Commission report on the impact of demographic change.

Member States also exchanged views on exit and recovery measures taken and foreseen at national and EU level.
