Video conference of the Eurogroup, 15 March 2021

Summary:

The Eurogroup held a meeting via videoconference on 15 March 2021. It met in its regular format as well as in its inclusive format. The agenda included the following items:

• Discussion on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on various sectors of the Euro area economy and the structural changes it may have triggered, based on a Note prepared by the European Commission;
• Adoption of statement concerning the fiscal policy response to the COVID-19 crisis and the path forward;
• Discussion on the 9th enhanced surveillance report on Greece;
• Briefing on exchange rate developments in view of forthcoming meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF);
• Exchange of views on the international role of the Euro, ahead of a Euro Summit later in the month.
