According to 'OECD-FAO Agricultural Outlook: 2005-2014', published by the OECD on 21 June 2005 and jointly authored with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation, developing countries may not benefit from liberalisation of agricultural trade in the world's rich countries because of inability to meet health and quality standards set by the global food industry.

A second report released by the OECD on 21 June 2005, 'Agricultural Policies in OECD Countries: Monitoring and Evaluation 2005', reveals that subsidies made up 30% of OECD farmers' incomes on average in 2004 - the same as in 1995.
