Politico published a feature on 14 January 2016 relating to the impact of the tension between the European Commission and the Polish government following adopted reforms regarding the Constitutional Tribunal and the governance of public service broadcasters.

In particular, such tension could affect negatively the closer ties built in previous years between Germany and Poland, damaging a difficult pathway of reconciliation between the two countries.
