Waste generated and treated in Europe – data 1990-2001. 2003 edition

This is the second publication by Eurostat on the generation and treatment of waste in Europe. This study presents a set of official statistics using as a principal source the joint Eurostat/OECD Questionnaire (2002). For some countries, this data has been complemented with data provided in national publications from Member States. The publication is divided into six main sections: Introduction, total waste generated, industrial waste, municipal waste, hazardous waste and recycling / packaging waste. Each section provides some figures and graphs intended to analyse the main characteristics and problems of these fields of waste statistics.
