On 8 May 2014 EurActiv reported the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) launched an investigation into an allegedly misleading advert by Peabody Energy, the world’s largest private sector coal company.

The ASA ruled on the 20 August 2014 that the advertisement for “clean coal” was misleading and should not be published again in its current form.
