This site provides information on the legislative codecision procedure (Article 251 of the EC Treaty) and on the roles played therein by the three institutions (Council, European Parliament and Commission). You will also find detailed information on the legislative acts which are in the process of being adopted (dossiers under consideration) or which have already been adopted (dossiers concluded) under the codecision procedure.

This site comprises both a static part, covering all the information on the procedure itself (including references to the Treaty, the relevant legal bases, a practical guide called "codecision step by step"), and a dynamic part, updated on a monthly and quarterly basis, which covers all the dossiers being dealt with at the different stages in the procedure and allows you to follow the latest developments or find legislation which has been adopted.

When tracking the latest dossiers, you can find information on the timetable for the different stages in the procedure and the timetable for the final adoption of the codecision acts.

There are also useful links to the sites of the co-legislators (European Parliament and Council), which provide additional information.
