Ôhe European Constitutional Treaty (ECT) is the final product of a long and collective European process. The deliberations of the European Convention commenced in February 2002 and lasted for 16 months. These deliberations on the ECT have been the longest and most intense exercise of a public dialogue in the context of the EU so far.
This paper will attempt to summarise the most important developments regarding the ECT since its adoption and elaborate at the same time a few more “technical” in nature issues, concerning the ratification of the ECT.
