As the EU currently works on overhauling its energy policy, it is crucial for the public to understand who are the movers and shakers among the EU politicians and in which direction each MEP and political faction actually pulls the policies, beyond mere (cleverly crafted) statements. To find that out, VoteWatch Europe conducted an analysis into parliamentary activities and the votes on 15 key decisions made in the European Parliament on energy-related topics

Note: this is an objective analysis aimed at providing the public and the stakeholders with crucial information needed to understand the European political landscape so as to be able to optimise their participation in decision-making. The report does not make value judgments vis-a-vis the views of the MEPs, as these can be seen as positive or negative by different categories of citizens and stakeholders, depending on which side of the debate they are.
